Parade of Homes Belize 2007 Winner

Here it is, straight out of scenic silk grass. Going for $200 bz, $100 us per month, OBO.

The spacious living room. Sleeps up to 4: 2 hammocks and a futon.

Here is the modern laundry room. Not built without a price. We had to search all over Dangriga for those buckets, and then wash out all the pig tail grease. But as the saying goes 'it will all come out in the wash'.

The furnished bedroom with a romantic bug net mostly for looks, except for to keep out the bugs and rats.

Oh my,
I didn't realize what such luxurious circumstances you two were living in...it actually looks quite fun...and I wish i could come visit. It reminds me when we lived in Hawaii and Ashli had to sleep on a cot (and our landlord thought that was normal).

I love it! The inside is actually quite nice! With all of the cracks to the outdoors, I'm afraid you'll always have little visitors--bugs and mice--hopefully your cat grows soon and has a killer instinct.

Do you have a clothes line outside to dry your laundry, or do you hang it inside? Do you scrub it on a little board or bang it against a rock? Oh how spoiled we are here.

I forgot to say how sadly similar our back yards are--we have that same exact metal fencing! It's all the rage, and it apparently keeps rabid dogs from leaping over the fence and eating your children.

'It will all come out in the wash' ahahahhahah. I'm laughing so hard right now. Comic gold these last posts were. I'm pleased as punch to see that awkward pic. with the hair too. ahahhaha.

P.s.I think your house is so cute! (read in an annoying girl's voice-- you know the one) I actually am completely serious-- I think it's so great--colorful, the classic net around the bed--remind you of any certain roommate's curtains encircling your dreams??
Looks a ton nicer than I had imagined.

Love love lvoe you

Sweet Abode, I like the hammocks and the tiny cat in the background. I have very bad memories of big Brazillian rats and beating them to death with broomsticks. Good Times. the kids loved the gangsta hair nets and I loved the article. I had been wondering if Belize is a good country now I know.

Two hammocks and a fouton, that will fit our family of four just fine. Make us a reservation. It's actually nicer than I imagined after seeing the original outside photo. The rat comments are disturbing...but then again, we've had rats all summer in our yard, patio, and garden. When Sedona sees a shovel now, she says, "That's what daddy hits the rats with. They have long tails."

If you're doing laundry in buckets does that mean you have to shower with them too? Ever seen the photos of Creed in Manaus with his bucket shower? I think that's why our remodel has a shower as big as our kitchen.

Also, love the net on the bed. When we were in Belize we had those in our rooms, but I thought it was for romance, not bugs and rats...

I am incredibly jealous. You guys are spoiled...seriously. I would take that pad any day over what we lived in in Puerto Rico. It's nice to see you two don't have any thieves amongst you anymore. The bugs will become your friends. I even took showers with them. Well, actually that was the lizards. You have to keep the glamorous hair on there. Nice to see things are a little normal.

Que rico, tu casa! I'll bet that tin roof is nice and quite during a downpour?
Washing clothes by hand in a bucket, not bringing back the best of memories for me. I had mold growing on my G's by month 2 in Manaus Brazil. Buenas Suerte!

I like your home!! The colors rock! I hope your cat and dog get the rats! You are one tough cookie, Ashli! Keep up the great work over there!

Ash and todd- i forgot to ask about the lizard/cockroach-leg-catching sticky pad. is there still one in the house? or did ruebin find it outside with our four lizard friends squished on it? What a trial those sticky things have been.

Love ya!
